Why Choose Cers

Experienced Instructors

Our instructors have years of experience riding, showing, and caring for horses and are passionate about helping our students achieve their goals in and out of the saddle.

Dedication to the Horses

The health, safety, and happiness of our horses is top priority of our staff.  The horses get daily turnout while their stalls are cleaned, grain and supplements in the morning, hay at least twice a day, and of course, lots of love and praise. We encourage our students to show the same love and care to their horses. After all, they're our teammates.

Purposeful Training

Whether you've never been on a horse or have been riding for years, we have a lesson program for you. As a hunter/jumper barn, we teach new students how to jump and offer training to help experienced students reach their riding and showing goals. Our group lessons are scheduled based on experience levels, and we also offer private lessons for students who prefer one-on-one training.

Our Foudner

Sandra Dooney is the founder and head trainer of Classic Equestrian Riding School.

Simply said, horses are Sandy’s life. Most of her waking hours are spent pursuing some avenue of horsemanship.

Sandy’s horses have been successful in the show ring from coast to coast. They have appeared at the HITS shows in Palm Springs, California and more recently at the HITS show in Culpeper, Virginia (July 2012).

She has had horses and riders ribbon in the LAHSA, SFHSA and the OCHSA California show circuits prior to moving to the east coast. From 2008 to present, her students and horses have been very successful in the MHJA and the WPaPHA Pennsylvania circuits.

Her warmblood lines include Voltaire, Mezcalero, Grand, Langraf, and Burggraaf. The thoroughbred lines include Nearco, Nasrullah, Northern Dancer, Furioso, and Bold Ruler.
